Pay for the river, not the star rating
River-facing rooms on the Lidder cost roughly double and are the one upgrade genuinely worth it here. You get running water instead of the pony-stand road, which is loud from 7 AM.
Your Srinagar cab cannot do local sightseeing
Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari are reserved for Pahalgam union taxis. Your Srinagar cab brings you in and takes you out — budget separately for the local run.
Two nights, not one
One night gives you the drive and the market. Two lets you do Aru and Betaab properly, and Chandanwari if the road is open.
