Aru is where the Lidderwat and Kolahoi treks actually start. Staying down in Pahalgam costs you the best two hours of morning light.
Expect bucket-fed hot water at village rates
Below roughly ₹1,500 a night, assume a shared bathroom and bucket hot water. That is normal here, not a property cutting corners.
